2nd July – Lottie life has it’s ups and downs. Today I saw a post on the ‘Next Door’ App about break ins to sheds on the allotments. I went down to investigate and to see if we’d been a victim… yup. One of the sheds had been broken into 🤬and willful damage caused with oil being poured out on the ground. It wasn’t an isolated attack, approx 10 sheds have been damaged – it’s just so maddening as it’s completely unnecessary!
4th July – It’s a polytunnel kinda day today, cool, a bit windy and on an off showers. So I take the opportunity to repot lots of little plants and some not so little ones. I was going to transplant more climbing beans outside but PIC suggested leaving them in the polytunnel to see how they faired. I love how green and lush the polytunnel looks
5th July – The kalettes have revived themselves after being protected from the birds, they were starting to be constricted by the net tepees keeping them safe so I made a larger netted area for them. After cultivating the rest of the available veggie patch I planted out the white and red onions, I planted out in little clumps because quite frankly planting out those bad boys separately would’ve tested my patience. I also released the parsnips from their bottle greenhouses / protection
I planted out the brussel sprout plants obtained from the giveaway bench at the lottie, it looks they’re worshipping the cane deity 😆
And… super exciting…. I harvested my first veggies
Spring onions Rainbow chard Mange Tout
10th July… more veggie harvesting
Courgettes Spinach Spring onions, beetroot, mange tout
The courgettes in the polytunnel are coming along
I’ve also been makign some tasty ratatouille with some of the veggies from the lottie
